Fascias, Soffits & Guttering in Richmond & South West London

Rotten fascias, sagging soffits and leaking gutters quickly cause staining, damp and damage to brickwork below. We replace fascias, soffits and guttering properly - correct falls, sound fixings and neat finishes - so the roofline looks right and the water goes where it should.

In detail

What the work covers

Fascias

The board behind the gutter takes the weight of the guttering and closes off the rafter feet. Rotten timber, flaking paint and sagging gutter lines are the usual signs it needs replacing. We strip back, check and repair the rafter feet, then fit new fascia in uPVC, capped timber or a period-appropriate profile.

Soffits

The underside board between the fascia and the wall. Broken or missing soffits let birds and wasps into the roof space and remove the ventilation path that keeps the roof timbers dry. We replace like-for-like with vented soffit where the roof needs airflow.

Guttering - repair or replace

Not every gutter needs replacing. Blocked runs, failed joint seals, dropped brackets and poor falls can often be repaired in a single visit. Where uPVC has gone brittle, or a cast-iron run is beyond patching, we replace the whole run with the right profile and downpipes, set to correct falls.

Why it matters to your brickwork

A leaking gutter or downpipe soaks the same strip of wall every time it rains. That saturates the mortar, blows brick faces in frost and shows up as damp inside. Roofline work is usually the cheapest way to protect brickwork you've just had repointed - and it's straightforward to do while access is already up.
